When Will DraftKings Open in New Hampshire?
DraftKings Sportsbook opened in New Hampshire on 30th of December 2019. DraftKings has the exclusive rights in the state to offer mobile sports betting.

DraftKings came in swinging in New Hampshire.
DraftKings continued its aggressive expansion as the first mover in the legal mobile betting market with New Hampshire. It had already moved fast in New Jersey, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.
In all the markets DraftKings has been one of the first mobile sportsbooks to open up in the respective market.
DraftKings Sportsbook Awarded Sole Mobile Betting Rights in New Hampshire
New Hampshire legalized mobile sports betting on the 12th of July 2019, as Governor Chris Sununu signed the gambling bill H 480 into law. The bill allows five mobile sports betting operators in the state and ten retail locations.
However, a few months later, they decided to award monopoly rights to one operator, and DraftKings Sportsbook won the bid by edging out Kambi and Roar Digital.

DraftKings New Hampshire runs from its office in Boston.
As a result, DraftKings proceeded to claim the monopoly on offering mobile sports betting in Granite State. DraftKings’ deal with the state will continue until 2025 with two 2-year option rights.
DraftKings to Run Retail, too
DraftKings will power up to 10 retail locations across the state to complement its mobile offering. The land-based sites are yet to be determined.

With the vote passed in the city of Manchester, they’re looking forward to adding DraftKings-powered sportsbook before summer.
The physical bookies are slated to start to open in spring, with the first one possibly in time for March Madness. The first five cities in NH to permit retail betting are Berlin, Claremont, Somersworth, Manchester and Laconia. The folks waiting for retail locations in Concord, too, won’t have a physical location as the vote didn’t pass in the NH capital.
DraftKings Sportsbook Now Launched in Five States
Historically, DraftKings Sportsbook has gone on to launch their mobile app a bit over a month since their local license has gotten approved, with West Virginia the lone exception.
State | DraftKings License Approved | Launch Date |
---|---|---|
New Jersey | 13/06/2018 | 01/08/2018 |
Indiana | 26/08/2019 | 03/10/2019 |
Pennsylvania | 02/10/2019 | 07/11/2019 |
West Virginia | 26/12/2018 | 28/08/2019 |
New Hampshire | 25/11/2019 | 30/12/2019 |
In West Virginia, DraftKings launched its operations relatively late, as the legal situation around mobile betting was murky at best. There was no such issue in the Granite State, as DraftKings opened even a bit ahead of time of originally planned. At first DraftKings said they’ll open their mobile sportsbook in January, but they already managed it before 2020 rolled around.
DraftKings is the quickest mover in all of the mobile gambling, along with its rival FanDuel. Both of the two are moving aggressively to claim as many states in the US as possible. New Hampshire is a clear win for DraftKings over its nemesis.
