Prediction market Polymarket has announced its latest partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB) team the New York Yankees. The deal with the New York Yankees baseball team will introduce signage at the iconic Yankee Stadium during games as well as fan experiences on game days, with the agreement set for the rest of 2026.

This first deal of its kind with an MLB team represents the Manhattan-based company's latest expansion into the sports market, having already signed deals with the likes of MLB, LALIGA and the New York Rangers NHL team.

Polymarket expands sports reach

Polymarket enjoyed a successful FIFA World Cup. According to market data, the platform saw more than $4.25B traded on the World Cup winner alone. The figure was likely boosted by Polymarket's decision to remove its waitlist for the iOS app in May this year, allowing access to a reported 1.4 million new customers.

The World Cup helped Polymarket look deeper into the sports sector. It has previously signed deals with major leagues and organizations including MLB, NHL, UFC, and LALIGA's North American arm. But, despite this, the company's deal is only its second with a US sports team - it signed a deal with the NHL's New York Rangers in January.

President of sports business development at Polymarket, Ari Borod, said, "We are proud to become a partner of one of the most iconic teams, not just in baseball, but in all of sports. Yankees fans are among the most passionate in sports, and Yankee Stadium is a natural home for Polymarket, where the questions driving our markets come to life throughout the season."

The New York Yankees

The Yankees are the most successful MLB team of all time, having won 27 World Series, ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals, who have won 11, although the Yankees haven't won since 2009 and have only appeared in one World Series since then.

But, despite their recent struggles, the Yankees brand remains one of the biggest in US sports. It is valued at around $8.5B, according to Forbes, and is one of the most valuable franchises in world sports.

New York Yankees senior vice president of partnerships, Michael Tusiani, said of the deal, "We are excited to begin a relationship with Polymarket - Major League Baseball's prediction market partner. Through signage and fan experience opportunities, we look forward to elevating Polymarket's brand awareness both at Yankee Stadium and across our fan base."

Yankee Stadium

The Yankees moved stadium to the new Yankee Stadium in 2009. It has a capacity of just over 46,500, making it the fifth-largest stadium in the league and the franchise is widely accepted as having the largest national and global fan bases in the league, giving Polymarket substantial reach as part of its new signage and sponsorship deal.

The signage will include rotating home plate signage, for locally televised games, that will enjoy YES Network and Prime Video coverage. Further branding will be seen throughout the stadium on Yankees game days. Fans will also be able to enjoy gameday experiences, including lineup card delivery.
