The New Jersey Lottery has partnered with renowned rock artist Jon Bon Jovi - the lead singer of Bon Jovi best known for their biggest hit Livin' on a Prayer - to launch themed scratch-off tickets on October 5.
This new collaboration will see special lottery tickets featuring the singer become available for $5, and carry a maximum prize of $200,000 per entry.
Artwork for these scratch-offs - titled Jersey Legend: Jon Bon Jovi Scratch-Offs - has not yet been unveiled, but players can expect to get their first glance at Bon Jovi-emblazoned lottery tickets during September.
Bon Jovi keen to celebrate New Jersey heritage
Born in Perth Amboy, and raised in Sayreville - Bon Jovi is a New Jersey boy through and through. In a statement, the 64-year-old touched on his close connection to the state:
"I will always call New Jersey home, so I'm happy to join the New Jersey Lottery in celebrating the place that holds so many of my favorite personal and career memories," explained Bon Jovi.
Being the face of state lottery tickets will have a direct, tangible impact on the rock icon's home area. Around 30% of all sales are directed to local pension frameworks - in FY2025, $1.08B was distributed to support systems for retired teachers and first-responders.
Executive Director of the New Jersey Lottery, Jim Carey, outlined the importance of actively recognizing the state's pre-eminent artists.
"Jon Bon Jovi is synonymous with New Jersey, and we're excited to celebrate our shared sense of Jersey pride with players across the state through these Scratch-Offs," said Carey.
Moreover, Carey hinted at the prospect of similar interactive products or events in the future:
"Celebrating an artist whose music, career, and connection to our state have resonated with so many is especially meaningful, and we look forward to giving fans even more ways to get involved in the months ahead."
Celebrity and themed scratch-offs rising in New Jersey
This is not a first-of-its-kind accord for the New Jersey Lottery. In 2025, Newark native and renowned former NBA basketball player Shaquille O'Neal took center stage in a similar scratch-off campaign.
Officially branded 'Jersey Giant Winnings', O'Neal-themed tickets were priced at the same $5 tier as Bon Jovi's upcoming scratch-offs.
That particular endeavour recorded its first $200,000 winner just one week after launch.
One year earlier, in 2024, the state Lottery presented 'It's A Jersey Thing' scratch-offs. Tickets comprised six distinct New Jersey images at $10 apiece, with prizes worth up to $500,000.
As such, the Lottery's newfound affiliation with Bon Jovi represents further momentum in an ongoing effort to showcase state pride via recognizable figures and imagery.
Bon Jovi's scratch-offs will soon join roughly 20 additional $5 tickets available through the New Jersey Lottery - fewer than half offer a comparable $200,000 award.
