For Thanksgiving, FanDuel announced a brand-new parlay feature called ‘Pass The Leg’ ahead of the three NFL Week 13 matches due to take place this Thanksgiving.
The first-of-its-kind feature allows customers to build one single group parlay, with each participant adding their own leg, before placing individual bets using their own funds.
Designed to bring friends and families together on one of the biggest days in the NFL calendar, the feature requires a minimum of three legs and offers a maximum of 25 legs – allowing the choice to get a big group to come together this holiday season.
Additionally, each individual customer can decide how much they wish to stake on the parlay, allowing a range of totals and ensuring everybody can be comfortable with how much they’re wagering.
“Pass The Leg is all about how our customers actually experience sports – together, sharing excitement, and creating memories around the games they love,” said Karol Corcoran, Managing Director of Sportsbook at FanDuel.
“We listened to how fans were already collaborating in group chats and at family gatherings, and built a feature that brings that natural social energy directly into their betting experience.“, added Corcoran.
How does the FanDuel Pass the Leg feature work?
The feature, which is exclusively available on their app and not on desktop, will allow everyone to join or start a Group Build, before inviting others to contribute picks and add them all to the completed parlay in their personal betslip.
Furthermore, everybody will be granted a dedicated Pass The Leg Profit Boost, to further amplify the goodwill on Thanksgiving and increase the potential payout for customers. It’s important to note though that players will need to opt in to qualify for this exclusive promotion.
The NFL is serving up three mouthwatering matches this Thanksgiving. First up, the Green Bay Packers visit the Detroit Lions before the Kansas City Chiefs head to the Dallas Cowboys. Finally, the Baltimore Ravens host the Cincinnati Bengals.
However, it remains to be seen whether this feature will be a permanent option for players going forward. Certainly, the launch suggests it’s only exclusively available this Thanksgiving. In fact, their website advertises the feature as ‘only available for NFL Thanksgiving games!’.
Despite this, if it turns out to be a huge success for players and the business alike, they might be inclined to offer it on most NFL Sundays – allowing people to come together all-year round.
This is not the only way FanDuel, who are owned by Flutter Entertainment, are trying to move with the times and offer innovative and pioneering features. They’ve recently announced the launch of their new prediction game called FanDuel Predicts.
The game, which will allow the company to target states where sports betting is illegal, is in partnership with the CME Group and is set to be launched in December.
