Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor has announced his latest business venture, unveiling himself as the Co-Founder and face of online casino RealBet.io.
The site is billed as a high-end online casino. It offers nearly 4,000 slots from the likes of Pragmatic Play and PGSoft, as well as table games and a roster of more than 500 live dealer games. Players can also find bingo games and crash games.
Announcing the launch on his X account, McGregor said: “I always wanted to own a casino!”
In the post, he went on to say new players could enjoy a $50 deposit bonus and receive $500 in bonus bets.
McGregor is arguably the most recognizable name in the world of mixed martial arts. Having made his amateur debut in February 2007, he turned professional after a single fight and eventually went on to become the UFC featherweight and lightweight champion.
Other business ventures by McGregor
Away from the Octagon, the Irishman launched his Proper No.Twelve Irish Whiskey brand in Ireland and in the US in 2018. He also launched Forged Irish Stout in 2021, and he made his acting debut alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the 2024 remake of the 1989 movie Road House. McGregor claimed he earned £4.3m from the movie, which would make it the highest-paid acting debut in movie history.
In April 2025, Notorious announced the launch of the memecoin $REAL. At the time of the launch, he promised to “change the CRYPTO game“. The coin was launched using a sealed-bid auction, designed to prevent manipulation and sniping.
In the end, the launch had a presale target of $3.6m and enjoyed a lot of media and social media attention. However, it also coincided with a slump in the market while civil court case appeals were still ongoing for the divisive figure.
Ultimately, the REAL coin failed to meet its ICO objective, raising just $340,000 of its $3.6m target. While the coin failed, McGregor was praised for his decision to reimburse everybody who had already invested in the coin, with a lot of failed memecoins ultimately leading to loss for investors. Announcing the refund, McGregor said: “This is not the end!”
McGregor and his connection to crypto
Realbet.io may lead to an attempt at relaunching the $REAL cryptocurrency in the future, and it represents another move into the iGaming sphere for the star.
In 2024, McGregor became a brand ambassador for Duelbits, a crypto casino and sports betting site. McGregor was the face of a new Race Against The Notorious tournament, which offered a $150,000 prize pool to players. He has also live-streamed events as part of the deal.
It’s not clear whether McGregor will continue his ambassadorial role with the prominent crypto casino now. But, the fighter has confirmed his return to the Octagon.
After dropping out of the Irish Presidential race in September 2025, he all but confirmed that he will be included on the fight card for an event at the White House, planned to take place in 2026. He looks likely to take on Michael Chandler – the pair were scheduled to meet in 2024 before McGregor broke his toe. But for now this remains uncertain.
