Dealer Championship 2025: Who will be crowned champion?

Anyone who’s played at a land-based casino, or in live games at the best US online casinos, will know how hard dealers work; so the 2025 G2E Gaming Expo are giving casino dealers an opportunity to show off their skills and win cash prizes.

As part of its ongoing efforts to showcase everything the industry has to offer, the team behind this year’s Global Gaming Expo has created a Dealer Championship.

The new event will see 40 people rifling, shuffling and spinning their way through a series of challenges in a bid to become the first G2E Dealer Champion.

Any active dealer currently working in licensed US land-based and/or online casinos is eligible for nomination. The organizers will invite 40 of those nominated to attend the G2E Expo at The Venetian Expo Hall from October 7-9.

The finest 40 will shuffle up and deal

Entrants must be accompanied by a representative from the casino at which they ply their trade. The representative will shadow their dealer and serve as a judge. The championship is open to full-time, part-time and dual-rate dealers.

That means the judges will play in games dealt by the competitors. At the end of play, the most accomplished dealer will be crowned champion and take home a cash prize.

How do you judge the skills of a casino dealer? The G2E Dealer Championship will consist of two distinction rounds (15 minutes each): the first round requires dealers to host a series of blackjack games, the second round is roulette.

Dealers will be judged on how they handle chips, deal cards, count bets and enforce the rules. In addition to their technical skills, dealers will be assessed on their social skills and how engaging they are.

Entrants will be given scores out of 10, with one being the lowest. The dealer with the best overall score at the end of the competition becomes the 2025 G2E Dealer Champion.

The real deal when it comes to casino gaming

Being a casino dealer isn’t as easy as it looks. Take blackjack, for example. As well as making sure everyone gets their cards, dealers need to perform calculations on the fly and pay players what they’re owed. Those tasks alone are tough enough, but that’s only half the job.

Casino gaming is meant to be fun, which is why dealers must also be entertaining. Those who can balance the two can make everyone’s experience better.

The team at G2E HQ knows this, which is why they’ve created the Dealer Championship. As well as the chance for the top three to win some money, the competition is recognition of the contribution dealers make to the gambling industry.

“The Dealer Championship is an opportunity for the casino industry to celebrate individuals who contribute to its success, providing a platform to recognize the art, professionalism and what it takes to be considered one of the greatest dealers in the world”, reads Global Gaming’s press statement.

The first Dealer Championship challenge begins on October 7 and will serve as a focal point throughout G2E 2025.
