Super Bowl Odds 2023 πŸŽ–οΈ NFL Wagering on Major U.S. Sportsbooks

It might have taken until Week #12 of NFL action, but the tide was turning and we have new favorites in the Super Bowl odds at last. Following their fifth straight win, the Kansas City Chiefs (+400) impressed the odds compilers with a 26-10 success against reigning champions the Los Angeles Rams.

The Buffalo Bills were demoted to second favorites (+450) after limping to a 28-25 win against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.

Jimmy Garoppolo, Christian McCaffrey, and the San Francisco 49ers also continued their rise up after shutting out the New Orleans Saints 13-0 and winning four straight. Available at +1500 just five weeks ago, Kyle Shanahan’s side are now just +600 and could be on track to meet the Chiefs in a repeat of the 2020 Super Bowl.

The Cincinnati Bengals have almost halved in price (+3000 to +1800) in the last fortnight after three successive wins, while the Philadelphia Eagles remain unchanged at +600 following the Thanksgiving games.

🏈 Top Contenders

The Bills had a great season in 2021 and their roster is one of the best in the NFL. QB Josh Allen has blossomed into a star in Buffalo and during free agency, they signed Von Miller and Jamison Crowder. While the majority of the top sportsbooks considered them the #1 preseason favorites for Super Bowl 57, their record isn’t as convincing as some in northern New York had hoped.

Kansas City Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill in the offseason but gained JuJu Smith-Schuster in free agency and some good draft picks like Skyy Moore. While Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are leading the team, the Kansas City Chiefs are expected to top AFC West and the football-crazy state of Missouri can prep for another long playoff run.

The Super Bowl LVI champion Rams haven’t weakened significantly since February, but they are not one of the top teams this season. While they lost Odell Beckham Jr. and a few others, they also gained Allen Robinson and Bobby Wagner. With Matthew Stafford now injured, they are in for a long rest of the season. As for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South, Tom Brady lasted a whopping 43 days in retirement until he decided to hunt for one more ring with new additions like solid wide receiver Russell Gage. They are trending downward and have struggled since their good start to the season.

The Dolphins made some blockbuster trades during the Summer and are steadily climbing the Super Bowl odds, even though both Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater have suffered from concussions. A few hundred miles North, the Eagles’ offense led by Jalen Hurts has been better than many sports fans had hoped, and are looking to win the NFC East on their way to a top playoff seed and Super Bowl favorites.

🏈 Dark Horses

Looking at some other teams, the Broncos traded for Russell Wilson from the Seahawks, while Green Bay convinced Aaron Rodgers to stay but had to let Davante Adams go. Neither teams has been stellar this season and it would be a big surprise to see either still standing at the end of the playoffs.

Dallas Cowboys sport some household names and superstar power in their line ups, and are finally convincing oddsmakers too. Cooper Rush, Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, and crew have been excellent in the past few weeks; is this the year of the Cowboys? Justin Herbert is one of the best QBs in the league, but missing the playoffs the previous year left some questions on the LA Chargers.

The Baltimore Ravens led by Lamar Jackson are jostling for the top position in the tight AFC North with the Bengals; Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow are giving them a run for their money. In the NFC North, the Minnesota Vikings are leading the pack.

🏈 How To Bet on SB 57

The 2023 Super Bowl odds are out, but you can also wager on the NFL teams during the season as bookmakers set odds for every game. When the League is in progress, there are plenty of options for all bettors, from a lifelong football fan to a first-time bettor.

Futures Bets

Super Bowl futures odds, quite simply, indicate the likelihood of each team to win the Super Bowl, and the opening NFL futures odds to win the Super Bowl are first released at the beginning of the off-season and updated when the season starts. Buffalo, Philadelphia, and Kansas City are the current favorites to win Super Bowl, while last season the finalists Bengals and Rams are considered to have a moderate chance to win SB LVI. Since anything can happen, experts explore potential future matchups, stats, and other factors before placing their futures bet.

Note that NFL futures market also includes the MVP of the Super Bowl and awards like the Defensive Player of the Year. You can pick any player with odds for a high potential payout. Remember that both types of futures odds change when scores are posted and teams fall out of the playoffs. You can also place an NFL futures bet on the winner of AFC Championship Game or the NFL Draft in certain states.

Moneyline

A moneyline bet is probably the most simple bet you can make: you pick the team you think will be the outright winner when the game finishes. When the odds are released, you see a favorite to win (odds with a minus sign) and an underdog (plus sign). You stand to win more with the underdog, but it’s more unlikely as well. Having the best record often makes the team a favorite, but a few teams always provide some surprises.

Point Spread

Point spreads are intended to get bettors to place wagers on both sides and a huge part of NFL betting. When you make a point spread bet, you bet on the team to “cover the spread”. So instead of counting the straight wins, a team has to win/lose by a certain margin for you to have a winning bet.

Keep an eye on line movement, as spread lines adjust based on the bets people are making prior to the start of the game, and you might not want to bet on the original spreads. Many oddsmakers set also alternate lines, which can be interesting for more experienced bettors.

Total (Over/Under)

Betting on totals might be the way to go if you are unsure who to bet for in the NFL championship game. Total betting means placing a wager on the over or under for the final score: will the teams score more or less points than X? If you think the game will be a low scoring affair, you go for under; if the opposite, choose over. You can also bet over/under on teams’ win totals.

Prop Bets

Player and team prop bets are numerous in any given NFL game, but the Super Bowl prop bets contain wide array of options. In addition to in-game events, some states and many sportsbooks let you bet which team wins the coin toss, what happens in the halftime show, or other similar common occurrences as a prop bet. However, you can’t usually bet on the national anthem mishaps. You can bet on the first person to score a touchdown, number of passing yards for the QB, which team leads at half time, or how many field goals are kicked in the first half, among other options.

Live Betting

In-play betting has become one of the most popular methods of sports wagering recently. Obviously, it means betting on events happening at the moment, and gives bettors a plenty of freedom to place bets. In addition, the line movement is swift as it is based directly on the game events. Options for live wagers include next person to score, whether the drive will end in a touchdown, and of course the straight bets like moneyline and spreads, among many differnt types.

Super Bowl Betting

Betting on the Super Bowl is very easy; you can bet on the regular season games as well. You must be located in a state with legalized sports betting when you try to wager.

Wagering Tips

Now that you’ve taken a look at the Super Bowl 2023 odds board and bet types, you are ready to start wagering. If you are new to Super Bowl online betting, BonusFinder US has curated some useful tips to consider before you place bets.

  • Budget: #1 thing to remember in any betting is not to go over your limits. Super Bowl is the biggest sports event in the U.S. and it can be easy to get swept up in the game, so set limits for yourself before placing bets. This way you don’t go over your funds.
  • Shop Around for Odds: The odds vary by sportsbook, so it’s definitely worth it to sign up at a few to see where the payout is the highest. Also, consider middling, which means betting on both sides of the Super Bowl line.
  • Use Bonuses & Promotions: Speaking of sportsbooks, most offer sign up bonuses and ongoing promotions, and many have Super Bowl specials. So check out if you can score some free bets prior to the game, and you can earn some wins potentially with no cost to you!
  • Look at the Stats: If you want to get serious, take a look at advanced statistics to get the most out of your bets. As Super Bowl attracts so many bets, you might not gain a significant advantage for straight bets. For prop bets, however, it’s another story. If you focus on the performance of couple players, you might find insights that lead you to make winning prop bets. For example, no one knowns yet how the first round picks from the ’22 Draft will perform.

🏈 Date of the SB 57

The Super Bowl will be played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12, 2023 to conclude the playoffs. The game used to be played on the first Sunday of February, but the expanded regular season has pushed the game back. When the playoff schedule is released, we will update this page.
