Casino Control Commission to Discuss Several New Ohio Sports Betting Apps on Wednesday

New Ohio Sports Betting Apps to Be Approved This Week

The Ohio Casino Control Commission is looking to approve several new OH sports betting apps this week. Applications from several big companies like DraftKings, Hard Rock Sportsbook, Tipico, BetRivers, and BetMGM Ohio are set to be approved on the Commission’s Wednesday meeting.

If approved, the Ohio sports betting licenses would allow operators to manage online sports betting on behalf of the state’s retail entities, mainly the casinos and professional sports teams in the state. For example, Hard Rock’s online operation would partner with their retail casino in Cincinnati, whereas DraftKings would go under the Hollywood Casino Toledo license.

For the large sports betting operators the Wednesday meeting is just a formality, and we can expect them to join other Ohio betting apps like FanDuel Sportsbook and bet365 Ohio, who’ve already secured their licenses for the Buckeye state.

Ohio sports betting law will initially allow for up to 25 sports betting apps. The licenses are awarded to proprietors who can partner up with maximum of two online skins. The online operators will include several new operators in addition to the established American sportsbooks- For example, Jake Paul’s Betr Sportsbook will likely operate under the SimpleBet license. Ohio’s own BetJack will also look to capitalize on the Jack Casino license.

Even though sports betting apps have been approved gradually, there are still several big players looking to enter the state. The next round of applications will likely be discussed on November 9th, and should include operators like Bally Bet Ohio.

All the Ohio sports betting apps will launch on the universal launch date of January 1st, 2023 at Midnight. This will mean that Ohio bettors can choose from more than 20 sportsbooks and claim multiple valuable sportsbook bonuses.
