DraftKings Sportsbook US
It’s been a whirlwind half-decade for DraftKings. After contributing to the daily fantasy sports (DFS) boom, they’ve decided to try their hand at running a sportsbook. In business since August 2018, they first gave their customers in New Jersey the opportunity to bet on the outcome of games. Now, theye’re available in Indiana and West Virginia, too
DraftKings Sportsbook Welcome Bonus 2019
There’s no denying it: DraftKings’ new player bonus for daily fantasy sports is the dictionary definition of lackluster. However, their sportsbook welcome bonus is the exact opposite.
With DraftKings Sportsbook, they’ll match your first deposit with up to $500 in bonus cash. In big markets like New Jersey and Indiana, that’s nothing to sneeze at!

Like their daily fantasy sports unit, DraftKings Sportsbook only offers multiple ways to deposit and withdraw money. Below, we’ll review them all in detail.
- Credit cards
- Debit cards
- Bank transfer
- Transfer from DraftKings DFS
Of all the options available, transferring funds from your DraftKings DFS account is by far the easiest. To transfer your funds, you must play through your deposit. For example, to transfer $20 to the Sportsbook, you must spend at least $20 on DFS contests.
Credit cards/debit cards and bank transfers are next on the scale of convenience. However, an annoying issue has made this deposit method unusable for some customers. While the 2018 court decision to repeal PASPA (Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act) allowed sports betting in New Jersey, some banks haven’t updated their policies on this matter. As a result, your bank may not let a transaction to go through to DraftKings Sportsbook.
If this happens to you, contact DraftKings support. They will work with you to get your money online.
- Bank transfer
- Paper check
- Cash at the cage (Resorts Atlantic City)
DraftKings Sportsbook offers more withdrawal options than deposit options. If your bank allows transactions to/from sports betting sites, you can set up a bank transfer. Is this method isn’t available to you? Then, you have three other options – PayPal, receiving cash-in-hand from the cage at Resorts Atlantic City, or receiving a paper check.
If you are in the Atlantic City area, getting cash from the cage is fastest. Next in line is PayPal – you should have your money in two days via this method. Paper check via snail mail is the slowest – allow two weeks for delivery.
DraftKings Sportsbook on Mobile
Want to bet on sports while on the go? Whether you’re on your afternoon commute or hanging out with friends, DraftKings Sportsbook App allows you to wager wherever you are, and with the best betting odds.
To do this, download the DraftKings Sportsbook mobile app. It functions on iOS and Android phones and is available from the App Store, or DraftKings Sportsbook website. Android users must download from the DraftKings website, as the Google Play Store does not permit real-money gaming and sportsbooks apps.
Once the installation is complete, scroll through the available games, make your selections, and place your bets.
Bets offered on DraftKings Sportsbook
Several types of wagers are accepted on DraftKings Sportsbook. These include:
- Moneyline bets
- Parlay bets
- In-game bets
- Spread bets
- Over/Under bets
Of all the wagers available on DraftKings, moneyline bets are the most straightforward. When you make a money line bet, you are wagering on who you think will win the game – period. Payouts vary on whether your selection is a favorite or an underdog. As you might expect, favorites are more likely to win but pay out less than underdogs.
Want to multiply your potential winnings? Put together a parlay bet. Consisting of two or more separate wagers, the odds of each outcome are combined. To collect, you must win all the bets made in a parlay. Of course, you’re less likely to do so with each contest added, but if you convert, you’ll make a ton of cash.
Missed betting on a team before the game, but want to wager? With in-game betting, you can! From betting on which side will win the 3rd quarter to the total number of runs scored, the possibilities are endless.
Want to add a touch of complexity to typical money line bets? Opt to bet the spread. In this form of wagering, the favored team has a handicap placed on it. For example, if the New England Patriots are favored to win by a touchdown (+7), they must win by more than seven points to ‘cover the spread.’
If you bet on the Patriots +7 and they win by three, you lose. Did they win by a touchdown? DraftKings will deem the bet a ‘push,’ which refunds your stake. If they complete last-minute two-point conversion to win by 8, though, that counts as a win for you.
Finally, over/under bets are a fun way to wager on a game. For example, let’s say you’re watching MLB – let’s say the Dodgers and the Giants. If the over/under on total runs scored is ten, betting the under is wise if you think it’ll be a tight game. If the final score is 5-4, 3-1, or 2-0, you win all those outcomes.
Betting on DraftKings Sportsbook in the USA
Now that you know all about the different kinds of bets, it’s time to place your first wager. After logging in, your home screen will contain the day’s featured games. If you’d like to bet on something else, click on your favored sport in the menu bar.
Next, you’ll find a list of the day’s games in your sport of choice. The client will typically show two options – the spread and money line bets. If a match is in progress, you’ll also have several live betting options. Click on your preferred option, and the client will add it to your slip. Want to bet a parlay? Click on the ‘Parlay’ tab above the betting slip to wager on multiple contests.
Take a second to review your selections. If everything looks good, enter the amount you wish to bet, then click the ‘Place Bet’ button. WARNING: Once you click the ‘Place Bet’ button, you cannot cancel your selection. On the daily fantasy sports side of DraftKings, you can edit or cancel selections up to 15 minutes before game time. On the sportsbook side, you do NOT have this option, so beware!
DraftKings Sportsbook also offers casino games
As exciting as sports are, there’s nothing to fill the gap during pauses in play. If you want to liven things during the intermissions, fire up the DraftKings casino.
We’ll be honest here: Currently DraftKings poses no threat to mainstream online casinos like PartyCasino and 888. However, its two slot machines (Cleopatra and Wheel of Fortune), blackjack table, roulette table, and video poker machine will be enough to keep you occupied until the game comes back on.
We’ll be keeping an eye out on DraftKings improving their casino games section. Craps, live casino, and additions to their slots section is definitely necessary here.
While it currently doesn’t have the reach its daily fantasy product has, DK Sportsbook has gotten off to a great start. With an easy-to-use interface, plentiful betting options, and a generous welcome bonus, sports bettors will surely enjoy DraftKings Sportsbook.
